Corrosion of Conformity live Upstate Concert Hall 1/6/18
COC is back, with Pepper Keenan and a brand new album.
The album is called No Cross, No Crown and is available Jan.12 2018. The album is no departure from what you know as 90's Pepper-era COC, stoner jams and epic southern rock guitar work.
Their set comprised of songs that were all post Animosity COC. No Hungry Child or any punk stuff, all stoner jams all night. They came in town in support of Black Label Society, and were toting physical copies their new album, due out next week!
At first it sounded like Pepper's voice was a little rusty, but, after the first 2 songs, it seems, he hit full stride. I noticed that Pepper's guitar tone sounded amazing, especially noticeable when trading off leads with Woody. Pepper has that sound dialed in, a rig run down of that guy's sound is in due order.
Upstate Concert Hall was packed with biker lookin' creeps and old schoolers left and right. Lately, these days, I'm typically the oldest guy in the club, (besides the promoter, Mike, haha love ya buddy) but not this night. Black Label brings out the old creeps, and that's cool. I thought there was gonna be a bike gang throwdown, it was thick, though, due to it being in the dead of winter, not a Harley in the parking lot. I felt like I was at the Black Widows club in Any Which Way You Can.
